The Brando is a singular luxury resort on the breathtakingly beautiful private island of Tetiaroa in French Polynesia – an atoll of a dozen small islets encircling a shimmering lagoon, north-east of Tahiti. Tetiaroa Atoll was bought in 1966 by Marlon Brando, the actor who fell in love with French Polynesia while filming Mutiny on the Bounty on the islands. The island became his refuge from life in the glare of the Hollywood spotlight. His lifelong dream was to preserve the atoll in the purest possible state and to allow others to enjoy it. He imagined a sustainable, ecological habitat; and although he died in 2004, his dream came true. The atoll has remained an untouched South Pacific paradise.
